CAPTURED // UNEXPECTED SPARKLE

Last Friday, Toronto Fashion Week ended with an amazing runway show by the Montreal-duo, Pavoni. And it ended with a bang of sparkled confetti. Bravo. This photo capture the essence of the whole show.
Spectacular. Spectacular.

CAPTURED // SO FAR IN MARCH...

Life has been a whirlwind these past few weeks. I finally had time to smell the roses last week. I didn't realise how much I needed that. But at the same time I do miss the hustle and bustle. Toronto Fashion Week begins tomorrow and it looks like I have something to do every day after work. Pretty stoked. So I leave you with an Instagram update of my life in the past 2 weeks.

#1 Valentino will make my dreams come true.

#2 The introduction of a Toronto label called Moose & Beaver.

CAPTURED // ON POINTE

I had a love/hate relationship with ballet. When I was a child, I hated it waking up early on a Saturday morning to scoot off to my dance classes (ballet, jazz and tap). But now, I regretted not to have a better appreciation towards it. Probably why now every time I see ballerinas as the subjects in a photograph, I become mesmerized. Is it because of the pale pink tutus against a backdrop of the concrete jungle? Or their poses? Whatever the reason, it's cool to see. Recently, it's been a repetitive theme with photographers and I just love how the depiction changes from one photographer to another. And I'm loving the latest series from Lisa Tomasetti. Love. Love.

STREET STYLE // PFW '13

Sick at home. So what better way to catch up on my blog.
-----
There's just something about Paris that makes you go oohhh and ahhhh. This is probably one of the cities I look forward to the most - not because of the designers that show but because of the street style that gets captured. There's just je ne sais quoi that you feel once you are in the city of love. You always need to dress to the T, so you don't feel you aren't shining but at the same time. Parisian style is not about dressing in the most outrageous outfit but something more chic and it's all about the little details.

BRANDING // HUDSON'S BAY

hudsons bay Hudsons Bay launches a new old branding
Today, it was officially announced that Hudson's Bay (sans Company) is continuing on with their re-branding with a new logo. The simplicity of the typeface is just what you need in the world of modern lines and less is more mantra. This would catapult the company to more of an upscale department store such as their American counterparts, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth, etc. And especially with Nordstrom coming to Canada as early as next year, the re-brand couldn't come at an ideal time. The company has seen a lot of changes bringing in UK's Top Shop and introducing The Room, their designer boutique that competes with Holt Renfrew. The new logo was the cherry on top. With them slowly giving their store-fronts a much needed face lift. It is now visually-appealing with a new life. I enjoy walking at their Queen St flagship store during my lunch breaks. Everything is presented nicely, everything is lit up.

What do you think of the logo? Yay or nay?

MONDAY STYLE FILE #18

HUGE CRUSH ALERT! Ever since I watched Les Mis a couple of weeks ago... I can't help but crush on this London-boy, Eddie Redmayne. And it doesn't hurt that he can sing. He was just so charismatic in Les Mis, don't you think? Then my crush went just a bit more deeper when he was at the Oscars red carpet wearing a sleek black suit. Currently, the face of Burberry alongside Cara Delevine, his style is very much stream-lined chic and he pulls of this style with not much effort.

Happy Monday!
